The Red Wine Viña Pomal Reserva is an elixir that embodies centuries of tradition, culture and winemaking expertise. Produced by Bodegas Bilbaínas, one of Spain’s most prestigious wineries. The wine belongs to the Rioja Designation of Origin. Founded in 1859 in the region of Haro, in the mythical Rioja Alta, Bodegas Bilbaínas is one of Spain’s oldest and most emblematic wineries. Its history begins when a group of Bilbao merchants decided to invest in the thriving wine business of the time, focusing on the production of high-quality wines. Over the years, the winery has maintained its commitment to excellence and has incorporated modern technology to complement its traditional winemaking methods. The key to creating the Red Wine Viña Pomal Reserva lies in the careful selection of the grape varieties used in its production. The winery stands out for cultivating mainly three traditional varieties: Tempranillo, Garnacha and Mazuelo. Each of these grapes contributes unique characteristics to the final wine. Tempranillo, known for its structure and elegance, is the base of the Red Wine Viña Pomal Reserva, while Garnacha adds red fruit notes and Mazuelo contributes balanced acidity and firm tannins.

The production of Red Wine Viña Pomal Reserva is a process that combines the art passed down from generation to generation and modern viticultural science. It begins with the manual harvest of grapes at their optimal point of ripeness to guarantee the quality and integrity of the clusters. Then, the grapes undergo rigorous selection to eliminate any imperfect fruit.

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, where temperature and time are carefully controlled to extract the desired flavors and aromas. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to French and American oak barrels to age for at least 18 months.
