Bodega Garganta Organista presents us with the Red Wine Poco Rosa de Gredos, from Ávila (Spain). This wine comes from a vineyard located in San Esteban del Valle, with impressive views of the majestic Puerto del Pico, situated south of the Gredos mountain range. The vineyard has a western exposure and is located at an altitude of approximately 930 meters above sea level. Its narrow, terraced steps give it a unique character. The soil, composed mainly of granitic sands, is relatively deep, providing ideal conditions for vine cultivation. The vineyard surroundings are mostly covered with pine, chestnut, and ash trees, with a vegetation layer of lavender, broom, and white hawthorn in the undergrowth. The Garnacha Tinta vines have an average age of about 70 years, which provides exceptional concentration and complexity to this wine. This vintage was characterized by a relatively cool summer, with a heat wave that lasted two weeks at the end of August and a storm with moderate precipitation at the beginning of September.

The harvest took place on September 28th, on a waning moon day, following biodynamic principles and collecting the grapes in 17 kg boxes. In the winery, complete destemming was performed and 70% of the grapes were crushed.

Fermentation was carried out naturally with indigenous yeasts, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine was decanted during the cold winter and finally bottled. After a year of bottle aging, this wine reached its fullness, showing all its characteristic complexity and elegance.
