Bodegas Clos Galena presents the White Wine Formiga de Seda from the Denomination of Origin D.O.Q. Priorat (Spain), made from various grape varieties: 60% Garnacha Blanca and 40% Viognier. Awards: SILVER · Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. The White Wine Formiga de Seda is a jewel of organic viticulture, crafted with 60% Garnacha Blanca and 40% Viognier.
The grapes come from five of our fourteen organic vineyard plots, carefully selected according to soil type and vine adaptation, with a limited production of 0.5 kg per vine.
The harvest is carried out manually, ensuring the selection of grapes in optimal conditions, transported in 15-kilo boxes to the winery to preserve their integrity and quality. In the winemaking process, each grape variety is hand-selected and undergoes cold maceration for 5 hours to extract subtle aromas and flavors. Subsequently, part of the wine ferments in tanks, where aging on lees is performed to provide texture and complexity, while the other part ferments and ages in French oak barrels for 5 months, adding vanilla notes and structure to the wine.
Aging in new French oak barrels for 5 months brings elegance and character to the White Wine Formiga de Seda, complementing its floral and fruity aromas with touches of spices and subtle toast. This wine presents itself as a sophisticated and balanced expression of the Garnacha Blanca and Viognier varieties, with an aromatic palette that includes notes of white flowers, peach, and almond.
On the palate, it is fresh and creamy, with well-integrated acidity and a persistent finish. Formiga de Seda is an example of our commitment to quality and sustainability in crafting exceptional wines that reflect the unique character of our terroir.
