The Attis Caíño Tinto Red Wine from Bodega y Viñedos Attis presents this wine from the D.O. Rías Baixas, made from 100% Caíño Tinto grape varieties. All the winery’s red monovarietals follow the same winemaking philosophy, seeking to transport those who taste them to the most Atlantic Galicia, a rich and diverse land like its almost forgotten and abandoned red varieties in a hidden terroir of whites. Wines with very good acidity that boast completely different personalities thanks to their distinct varietal expressions. Attis Caíño Tinto is made with the grape from Rías Baixas that gives it its name, one of the native varieties with the greatest potential. Production: Manual harvest in perforated 15 kg boxes. Manual selection upon arrival at the winery. Complete destemming. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in open 500-liter barrels. Total maceration of 15 days with 2 punchdowns each day. Manual vertical press. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Aging for 12 months in French oak barrels. Clarification with egg white and sea water. Filtration. Vineyard: Pergola (traditional pergola) with 800 vines/ha. Granitic Entisol soils with sandy-clay character. Dominant South-West orientation. Altitude of 100 meters. Behind the brand lies the wine project of brothers Robustiano and Baldomero Fariña, who alongside Jean François Hebrard have set out to make different wines, attending to their variety, plot or production, bringing out every nuance and aroma granted by the climate (humid with mild temperatures), the terroir (predominantly granitic) and, of course, the Atlantic (high salinity in the wines). Respecting the inherent characteristics of the native varieties used, Attis’s identity is expressed with complete honesty in each of their wines: an identity where tradition, effort, patience and the know-how inherited from previous generations are the foundation.
