The MachoMan Monastrell MMM Red Wine belongs to Casa Rojo winery and is included in the IGP Tierra de Murcia. It comes from 13 Monastrell vineyard plots in the Paraje de La Raja area (where the winery is located) between the El Carche and La Pila mountain ranges.

The vineyards are between 20 and 70 years old.

The harvest is manual, respecting the optimal ripening stages, in 15 kg boxes. This wine is made with 100% Monastrell grapes. Within the IGP Tierra de Murcia, in the southern zone, located between the El Carche and La Pila mountain ranges, is the Paraje de La Raja area. In this zone, Casa Rojo winery has selected the 13 plots from which the Monastrell grapes come. The poor, shallow and calcareous soils, together with the extremely dry climate of the area, will cause the plant to suffer considerable stress and have very little vigor, which produces quality fruit. The MachoMan Monastrell MMM Red Wine is the result of a vintage with very low production, but very concentrated and of outstanding quality. The 2016 production is limited to 103,000 bottles.

The harvest takes place during the second and third weeks of September, by optimal ripening stages and manually during the first hours of the day so that the grapes enter the winery at a temperature of about 15ºC. Grapes enter the winery after double selection table.

Fermentation is carried out in 7,000-liter inverted truncated cone tanks (the thinner cap and this inverted shape allows softer and less aggressive pressing) at a controlled temperature of 26ºC.

Aging in first-year French oak barrels. 240 and 450-liter barrels from four cooperages (Seguin Moreau, ANA, Saint Martin and Sauri). Subsequently it also passes through 800-liter Roman clay amphorae. It has an alcohol content of 14%. It also has a total acidity of 5.15 g/l, a pH of 3.69 g/l and 3.2 g/L of residual sugar. Wine has accompanied man since the beginning of time. Its culture, cultivation techniques, way of making it, transporting it, presenting it and tasting it have constantly evolved thanks to creative people who dared to take the next step of innovation.
