1564 Viognier

The White Wine 1564 Viognier from Bodega Sierra Norte presents us with this White Wine IGP Tierra de Castilla (Spain), with a 100% Viognier grape variety. Cultivation: The vineyards are located in the El Cerro area, at an altitude of 700-740 m. Planted in limestone-sandy soils of medium depth. Under a continental climate softened by Mediterranean influence. The vineyards are 22 years old with a trellis system in Guyot. The wine comes from vineyards worked through organic farming, based on respect, sustainability and balance. 100% Viognier variety, which gives rise to an organic and vegan wine. Its soils are protagonists due to their activity and positive biological conditions that favor the rapid assimilation of organic matter, promoting the achievement of its full expression. It was awarded the Gold Medal at the Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition 2021, for the 2019 vintage. Elaboration: Harvesting is carried out at night to minimize oxidation of the musts and preserve the most delicate aromatic nuances. Skin maceration and subsequent fermentation at low temperature (15ºC) followed by brief aging in French oak Bordeaux barrels until bottling. The clarification, stabilization and filtration processes of the wines before bottling are carried out as respectfully as possible, to preserve their character to the maximum.
