La Caña

La Caña White Wine is a sold-out winemaking treasure that comes from a project led by Jorge Ordoñez and his associates. The winery is located in the extreme north of the D.O. Rías Baixas, specifically in the Salnés valley, to the south of this region and near the Atlantic Ocean. The vine cultivation method is traditional to the area, using the pergola system, which keeps the fruit away from the ground, favoring grape health and minimizing the use of fungicides.

The grapes used to make this wine come from 11.5 hectares of vineyards, of which 5.2 are owned and the rest belong to local viticulturists. These vines are distributed across twelve plots in the locality of Sisan Ribadumia, in the Salnés valley. The soils of this region are mostly sandy, resulting from granite decomposition, and have high acidity due to their proximity to the ocean. The average age of the vineyards ranges between 30 and 35 years, and the grapes used are exclusively of the Albariño variety. The optimal serving temperature to enjoy this sold-out wine is 6ºC, which highlights its unique characteristics and freshness on the palate. With its limited production, each bottle of La Caña White Wine is a gem that pays homage to the winemaking tradition of Rías Baixas and to the passion of those who have made this wine of exceptional quality possible.
