Bodegas Casa La Rad presents us with the Red Wine Casa La Rad Garnacha Special Edition from the D.O.Ca Rioja (Spain), crafted from 100% Garnacha grape varieties from old vines from Plot No. 38 of the Casa de La Rad block. Coming exclusively from Plot 38, a vineyard located at 640 meters altitude with an average age of 50 years, this red wine expresses like few others the nobility of Rioja Garnacha. The soil, rich in ferric elements, limestone, clay and rocky components, provides minerality and depth to the wine, contributing unique nuances that can only be achieved in terroirs of exceptional quality.
The harvest is carried out manually in the first week of October, carefully selecting each cluster.
The grapes are transported in small-capacity trailers to prevent deterioration. Once at the winery, they are destemmed and fermented in open 500-liter French oak barrels, with frequent racking and gentle maceration, to preserve varietal freshness and purity.
Alcoholic fermentation develops at 24°C for 18 days with selected yeasts, and malolactic fermentation is carried out in new French oak barrels for 50% of the wine, while the rest remains in tank, favoring balanced evolution. Subsequently, the wine ages for 12 to 14 months in semi-new French oak barrels (100%), with 50% new oak, followed by bottle aging of at least 12 months before reaching the market. The result is an elegant, intense and structured wine, with notes of ripe red fruits, spices, floral memories and a mineral background that makes it unmistakable. Additionally, this wine is certified as vegan, respecting both the environment and the preferences of the most demanding consumers. If you are looking to buy Rioja red wine with personality, history and artisanal production cared for in detail, the Red Wine Casa La Rad Garnacha Special Edition is your ideal choice.
