The Red Wine Más de Leda is one of the most authentic and elegant expressions of Tempranillo in Castilla y León, crafted by Bodegas Leda under a philosophy of absolute respect for the vineyard and environment. It is an organic and multi-terroir wine that combines the essence of different plots located mainly in Tudela de Duero, but also in nearby areas such as Toro and Cigales, all with a strong winemaking identity linked to the Duero River. This red wine comes from old vineyards between 40 and 60 years old, cultivated on soils of various textures that contribute complexity and character to the whole. Each plot is vinified independently, respecting the potential of each terroir, to then be integrated into a blend that accurately reflects the versatility of Tempranillo in different areas of Castilla y León. The 2021 vintage was distinguished by ideal climatic balance: a mild winter, a cooler summer than in previous years, and moderate precipitation that favored a slow and homogeneous ripening cycle. Spring frosts barely affected the vineyard, and September rains contributed to a gradual and complete grape maturation. The result was a harvest of healthy, balanced grapes of excellent quality, with more pronounced acidity, solid structure, and exceptional color intensity. Vinification was carried out with the precision that characterizes Bodegas Leda, always seeking to maintain fruit purity. Aging developed over 15 months in French oak barrels (80%) and American oak (20%), a process that adds depth, complexity, and elegance without detracting from the varietal character of Tempranillo. In the glass, Más de Leda presents a bright and intense cherry red color, with high color depth that anticipates its concentration. On the nose, it displays aromas of red and black fruits—currant, blueberry, blackberry—along with floral notes of violet and subtle spicy and sweet nuances from the wood. On the palate, it stands out for its silky and balanced entry, lively acidity, fine tannins, and a long, harmonious finish that reflects its measured aging and multi-terroir origin. This wine is ideally served between 16 and 17°C to fully enjoy its structure and expressiveness.
