From the Mas de Llucia estate, in the heart of Teruel (Spain), comes the Plorona Mas de Llucia Red Wine, a delicate and expressive combination of Garnacha Tinta and Alicante Bouschet, two varieties that complement each other to offer a wine of great character, balance and freshness. The vineyard that gives origin to this wine was planted in 2016 and is located on a plot with a slight slope, very well aired and facing southwest. This orientation allows optimal solar exposure, favoring the slow and complete ripening of the grape. The clay soil provides structure and depth to the wine, while the altitude, over 650 meters, contributes freshness, natural acidity and greater aromatic complexity. A conscious choice to adapt to climate change, betting on high-altitude viticulture that is sustainable and respectful of the environment.
The production of Plorona Mas de Llucia Red Wine is carried out with care from the very first moment.
The grapes are hand-harvested in 20 kg boxes to preserve their integrity, and after careful selection, destemming and crushing, maceration and fermentation begins, where the aromatic compounds, color and tannins that define its structure are extracted.
Fermentation is meticulously controlled and racking is carried out by tasting, at the exact moment when the wine’s balance and expression are considered optimal. The skins are gently pressed at low pressure to extract only the most elegant and pure fraction of the must. Subsequently, the wine undergoes light aging in second-year French oak barrels for 24 weeks. This phase aims to round the wine on the palate and provide subtle nuances without masking the fruit, respecting to the maximum the freshness and delicacy of the varieties. The result is a lively red wine, with a floral and fruity nose, soft tannins and a persistent finish.
Ideal for pairing with white meats, spiced dishes or aged cheeses.
