Solagüen Crianza

Solagüen Crianza Red Wine is a red wine from D.O. La Rioja crafted by Bodegas Solagüen, belonging to Bodegas Labastida. It is a single-varietal Tempranillo wine, the typical grape of La Rioja. THE GRAPE From more than fifty vineyard sites that make up the Labastida vineyard, we select a minimum of two plots and a maximum of five per area. The vast majority of the vines in these vineyards are Tempranillo where they coexist with some Garnacha. THE HARVEST The 2016 vintage was slightly rainier than average in the area and somewhat cooler than usual, which influenced the late and aromatic character of the harvest. We harvest and vinify by zones, starting with the lowest ones, at 450 meters altitude and finishing with the highest ones, above 650 meters. After vinification, we aged the wines for 12 months in 225-liter French and American oak barrels.
