Pío del Ramo presents us with the Chardonnay Barrica White Wine from the Protected Designation of Origin Jumilla (Spain), crafted exclusively with 100% Chardonnay grapes from certified organic cultivation. This wine is born in the La Florida plot, a carefully selected vineyard that reflects the most elegant and structured character of this variety in the Mediterranean environment of Jumilla.

The vineyards are settled on calcareous and sandy soils, ideal for the proper development of Chardonnay, providing freshness, minerality and natural balance. The two-arm trellis training allows optimal foliage management and homogeneous cluster ripening, favoring aromatic concentration and fruit quality.

Harvesting takes place at dawn, at the end of summer, when the grapes reach their optimal ripening point. This moment is key to preserving aromatic integrity and avoiding oxidation caused by high daytime temperatures. Once in the winery, the must is cold-clarified in stainless steel tanks, ensuring cleanliness and purity before starting alcoholic fermentation. When fermentation begins, the wine is transferred to new oak barrels, where it ferments and remains in contact with its lees for three to four months, performing three weekly bâtonnages. This lees work adds volume, complexity and a creamy texture, elegantly integrating the wood aromas with the varietal expression of Chardonnay. The result is a white wine with character, balanced and sophisticated. Visually it presents a bright golden yellow color, with warm reflections.

On the nose, aromas of ripe fruit, tropical notes, butter, vanilla and toasted touches are perceived, perfectly integrated.

On the palate it is broad, unctuous and enveloping, with good acidity that balances the structure, a silky passage and a long, persistent finish.
