The red wine Abadía de San Quirce Crianza is an excellent example of the winemaking tradition of its winery located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin, in the province of Burgos, Spain. Abadía de San Quirce Crianza is the result of a careful selection of Tempranillo grapes, the most emblematic variety of the region. The vineyards are located in a privileged environment, with clay and limestone soils, and a continental climate that favors the optimal development of the grapes. The meticulous manual harvesting work guarantees the selection of the best clusters, which are subsequently taken to the winery for vinification. At the winery, a traditional vinification process is followed, combining modern techniques with wisdom accumulated over generations.
The grapes are destemmed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to French and American oak barrels, where it rests for 14 months before bottling. Bodega Abadía de San Quirce, founded in 1990, has managed to combine winemaking tradition with innovation. Its modern and functional facilities allow all phases of the winemaking process to be carried out with precision and care. In addition to Abadía de San Quirce Crianza, the winery produces other wines of recognized prestige, such as Abadía de San Quirce Roble and Abadía de San Quirce Reserva. The winery also stands out for its commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment. Environmentally friendly agricultural practices are employed, and biodiversity in the vineyards is promoted. Furthermore, the winery has a certified environmental management system, which demonstrates its commitment to quality and responsibility.
