Red Wine Blecua Magnum: The Blecua winery began operations in July 2000, located very close to Viñas del Vero, on the axis defined by the Vero river from Barbastro to Alquézar. Their wines are marketed by Bodegas González Byass. The Red Wine Blecua Somontano from VIÑAS DEL VERO winery, with D.O. Somontano, has been crafted with the following grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Syrah and Merlot.
The aging of this wine has been carried out for more than 20 months in new French oak barrels. For the production of Red Wine Blecua, the finest vineyards of Viñas del Vero have been selected to produce the grapes that will create Blecua each year.
The harvest is done by hand in small 10 kg boxes. Once at the winery, the bunches undergo selection so that only the highest quality grapes reach the fermentation vats.
The grapes from each vineyard ferment separately in French oak vats.
Fermentation lasts four weeks. The wines begin malolactic fermentation in the fermentation vats and once this begins, the wines are transferred to barrels. After twelve months, the best barrels from each wine are selected. Once the finest wines are chosen, the final blend is made and transferred to barrels for another eight months. Therefore, Blecua remains in barrels for 20 months. After this time, the wine is bottled.
