Finca Constancia Parcela 23 Wine
The Finca Constancia Parcela 23 Wine (Gonzalez Byass) is made with 100% Tempranillo grapes from Parcela 23, one of the most unique plots at Finca Constancia.
The harvest is carried out manually in small boxes.
Malolactic fermentation took place in new French and American oak barrels where it subsequently rested for six months, providing a subtle touch of wood that defines the fruity character of this Tempranillo. The Finca Constancia winery is located in the municipality of Otero in the province of Toledo. The important González Byass winery acquired it in 2000. After a meticulous study of the climate and soil characteristics, the varieties that best suited the area were planted.
The 2015 harvest was characterized by a dry winter and a warm summer that caused good balance in the vineyard’s development. From the end of July, the veraison of the earliest variety, Tempranillo, begins, while the Cabernet Sauvignon variety changes color in mid-August.
The harvest was carried out very gradually and each variety was picked at its optimal ripeness moment. The temperatures of a cool summer made the cycle balanced, obtaining grapes with concentrated maturity and a tendency toward stewed aromas, which will serve as raw material for pleasant wines, with sweet tannins, good aftertaste and excellent for aging. It has an alcohol content of 14%. This wine has a total acidity of 5.7 and volatile acidity of 0.46. To appreciate all its flavor and aromas, it should be served at a temperature between 15 and 16°C.
