The La Pinaleta project begins in 1997, when the Osborne family ventures into Ribera del Duero with the objective of finding the most singular vineyards of Valladolid, Burgos and Soria. After 24 continuously crafted harvests, the experience materializes in this limited edition wine, under the seal of the family company Vinea Magna S.L.U., and with the technical direction of renowned winemaker Toni Barragán, great connoisseur of the area. La Pinaleta is born from unique parcels with old vines located in Moradillo de Roa, Quintana del Pidio, Quintanilla de Onésimo and Pesquera de Duero, at altitudes between 750 and 1,100 meters. Its soils are mostly stony, calcareous and poor, which gives the wine exceptional concentration and minerality. Many of these vineyards coexist with small pine forests known as «Pinaletas», which give the wine its name and mark its personality. Each parcel is vinified separately to respect the unique characteristics of the soil, altitude and fruit to the maximum. Subsequently, each wine is aged in new and one-year French oak barrels for a minimum of 20 months, in measured aging, designed to embrace the wine without masking its essence. Successive tastings allow deciding the final blend, always seeking the perfect balance between complexity, fruit, freshness and structure.
