An exceptional red wine from the Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOQ) Priorat in Spain, paying tribute to the singular essence of the Garnacha Negra grape. This wine, crafted exclusively from this grape variety, offers a sensory experience that captures the authenticity and elegance of the Priorat terroir. «The name refers to an ancient stone, tall and thick, located in Les Solanes, near the village of Porrera.» Coming from a single Garnacha plot, this unique vineyard is located in Porrera, outside the municipality of Torroja. In this terrain, sandstones dominate, interspersed with slate, creating perfect conditions for cultivating Garnacha Negra. The vines, thirty years old, are cultivated following sustainable agriculture practices, with the organic certification process underway.
The production of La Roca de l’Abellar reflects a commitment to quality and pure expression of Garnacha Negra.
Spontaneous fermentation takes place in small food-grade plastic tanks of 500 liters, with continuous maceration for eight to fourteen days. Subsequently, the must is pressed to complete fermentation. The wine ages gracefully in 1,100-liter terracotta amphorae for fourteen months, allowing the flavors to integrate and evolve harmoniously.
