Bodegas Ribas del Cúa presents the Red Wine Oncedo Mencía, an elegant and balanced reference within the Denomination of Origin Bierzo (Spain). Made exclusively with the Mencía variety, this wine comes from controlled yields of the Oncedo plot, in the prestigious Finca Robledo, which guarantees exceptional quality grapes and an authentic expression of the terroir. This wine stands out for its meticulous elaboration and careful aging. The Oncedo Mencía ages for 8 months in French and American oak barrels, a process that provides aromatic complexity, structure and smoothness. After barrel aging, the wine is bottled without filtration or stabilization, preserving all its intensity and natural character. Subsequently, it rests at least 6 months in bottle to refine and reach its optimal balance.
On the nose, this wine offers notes of ripe red fruits, spiced nuances, gentle toasted notes and a mineral background very characteristic of Bierzo.
On the palate it is round, silky and with polished tannins, showing a perfect balance between fruit and wood.
